I believe this is the picture that defines rebellion the most at this time. Music was the interlocking key to the new youth upbringing. Rock and Roll was introduced heavily by Bill Haley, who did "Rock Around The Clock," and Elvis Presely, who played "Jailhouse Rock," and other favorites. My understanding is that Rock and Roll, served a lot if not all influence towards rebellion in the fifties, swaying the beatniks, the greasers, cigarette smoking, dancing, and the expression of freedom and individualism of the time.
